Sod Installation

Untitled-2-445x230We offer several types of sod depending on preference and shade conditions.  Please be sure and have a sod technician check your current conditions for weed varieties and insects.  It may take 30-90 days to prep ground correctly. Shade also places stress onto sod and it may die unless certain varieties are used. You can trust Landscape Unique to make sure you pick the perfect variety of Sod to match your environment.

ST. AUGUSTINE

The most common type of sod in the Orlando area. Many different varieties of this sod; however, it is the best choice for shade.  We use ‘Seville’ St. Augustine sod under our oaks. Call us for you St. Augustine sod installation needs.

ZOYSIA

This is the ‘new wave’ sod.  The most common variety is Empire Zoysia. All modern style and green/eco friendly homes are using this sod.  Amazing drought resistance. About the same with bugs and fungal. We also like it because it can be mowed lower than St. Augustine.  This is not the preferred grass for shade; however, if you must, then use ‘Jamar’ variety. Call us to discuss your Zoysia installation needs.

BERMUDA

This carpet-like grass is seen all over Disney World, prestigious golf courses, and high end resorts.  It’s downfall? Maintenance.  To keep it looking perfect it must be mowed 2 times per week in summer.  But, this makes one of the best lawns in town–hates shade, loves sun.
